Canberra Raiders five-eighth Blake Austin will depart the club at the end of the 2018 season to take up an opportunity with Super League Club Warrington.
Austin arrived at the Raiders in 2015 and has been a mainstay of the Raider NRL side since then. Along the way he's been a wonderful ambassador for the club off the field and was named Dally M Five-eighth of the year in 2015.
Austin thanked the Raiders for the opportunity to wear the green jersey and the chance to further his rugby league career.
"I'd like to thank Ricky, Don and the club for presenting me and my family with the opportunities they have over the past four years," Austin said. "Thanks to my team mates and the Canberra members and fans for embracing me as one of their own. I hope to be remembered as a guy that gave his all in green.
"I look forward to playing the best footy I can for the remainder of the 2018 season."
Raiders Coach Ricky Stuart said he wished Austin all the best for the future and said the club would not rule out having him back in the future.
"From a personal point of view, I wish Blake, Gillian and his family all the best for a new start," Stuart said. "Blake was a big part of the club's resurgence as an attacking team and that will be a huge bonus for Warrington.
"The door at the Canberra Raiders is never closed in regards to Blake and his family. This was a salary cap decision by the club and we genuinely wish him all the best," Stuart said.
