The Rolling Raiders are gearing up for their historic first home game in their inaugural NSW Cup season at the Queanbeyan PCYC this Saturday at 2:00 pm.

They'll be facing off against the St George Illawarra Dragons in Round Three of the NSW Cup.

Although starting with an 0-2 record, the inaugural side has demonstrated promising signs and a commendable level of determination on the court.

Undoubtedly, the debut of Brad Burns for the Rolling Raiders this weekend will be significant. With his extensive experience in the sport, he's poised to be a valuable asset for the team.

Burns' Wheelchair Rugby League journey began in 2019 right here in Canberra. Since then, he has played at the representative level, including City vs Country and Country development, before earning a spot in the Dragons NSW Cup side last year, the team he makes his Raiders debut against on Saturday.

Burns suffers from Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) which affects the nerves in his legs and his ability to participate in traditional sports.

"Wheelchair Rugby League has helped me because I used to play able bodied Rugby League and now I can play in a wheelchair," Burns said.

Come along to the Queanbeyan PCYC on Saturday at 2:00pm to cheer on the Rolling Raiders.

The match will be proceeded by a 'come and try' session for everyone to give Wheelchair Rugby League a go.
