Katrina Fanning Shield: Round Six Preview

Round six of the Katrina Fanning Shield showcases an action-packed weekend, with four exciting matchups across the region.

Woden Valley Rams vs Belconnen United Sharks, 9:30am, Saturday at Phillip Oval

The Woden Valley Rams will be playing host this weekend as they face up against the Belconnen United Sharks on Saturday morning at Phillip Oval.

Fresh off a narrow 28-20 loss to the Queanbeyan Blues last weekend, the Rams will be eager to bounce back and impress a home crowd.

There’s no doubt Woden will be looking to claim victory this Saturday morning and maintain their spot in the top four.

The Sharks will be riding high on confidence after claiming their first ever KFS win with a commanding 38-6 score line against the Goulburn City Bulldogs last weekend.

With the Rams eager to secure a win at home, and the Sharks looking to carry over their winning momentum, this game is sure to be one to watch.

West Belconnen Warriors vs Yass Magpies, 9:30am, Saturday at Raiders Belconnen

The Yass Magpies will be on the road this Saturday as they prepare to go head-to-head against the West Belconnen Warriors at Raiders Belconnen in a Grand Final rematch.

Fresh off an astounding 48-nil win against the Bungendore Kangaroos last Saturday, West Belconnen will be looking to continue their winning ways.

Following a bye week, Yass will be entering round six well-rested and recuperated.

This will undoubtedly be a fiery clash, as the Magpies seek redemption from last years Grand Final loss to the Warriors.

Queanbeyan Blues vs Goulburn City Bulldogs, 10:40am, Saturday at Seiffert Oval

The Queanbeyan Blues are gearing up to host the Goulburn City Bulldogs this Saturday morning at Seiffert Oval.

The Blues hold an undefeated status as they head into round six, coming off an eight-point victory against the Rams last weekend.

The home side will be leaning on halves pairing Briony Frater and Paige-Louise Condon to back up their strong performances from last week.

On the other hand, the Goulburn City Bulldogs are coming off a disappointing 38-6 loss to the Belconnen United Sharks.

There’s no doubt the Bulldogs will use this as fuel as they aim to make amends this weekend, meanwhile the Blues will be looking to maintain their place on top of the ladder.

Bungendore Kangaroos vs Gungahlin Bulls, 12:00pm, Saturday at Seears Workwear Oval

The Gungahlin Bulls will be travelling this weekend as they prepare to go up against the Bungendore Kangaroos this Saturday at Seears Workwear Oval.

The Bungendore Kangaroos will look to tighten up their defence as they face a Bulls side with plenty of attacking strike.

Meanwhile, Gungahlin are coming off a commanding 28-point victory against the Tuggeranong Bushrangers last weekend.

Seears Workwear Oval will be bustling as the Bulls look to remain undefeated, while the Kangaroos aim for their first win.
