Our Territory, Our Region
The Toyota Forklifts Canberra Raiders are a quintessential part of the region’s identity. By building the sport and doing our best, we can bring the Raiders spirit to Canberra and the region for years to come and give the Canberra Region a sense of identity beyond government.
We aspire to be more than a rugby league team that participates in the National Rugby League competition. Since 1982 the Club nicknamed the “Green Machine” has proudly existed to entertain, positively promote and contribute to the ACT and surroundings (i.e. the Capital Region) for the benefit of local communities and their people.
Our vast regional footprint measures nearly 60,000sqm in area and has a population in excess of 800,000 people. It extends from the ACT west to Riverina, east to Batemans Bay, south to Albury and Bega and north through to Bathurst and Orange.
Notwithstanding that the sheer size and unique traits of “Raiders Community’ provide great benefit for our core business function of player recruitment and development/retention, our immense reach and profile leads to significant requests for support on an annual basis. We give to the community that gives so much to us. We support local clubs, junior level teams and do more for those who need our help.
Canberra Raiders respect and honour the Traditional Custodians of the land and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and future. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on.
