Whilst most of us can’t wait for the NRL season to kick off, Raiders Member Bryan Guest is among the most keen to cheer the Raiders on after recently returning from a “trip of a lifetime” courtesy of the club and WIN TV.

Bryan, a Gold Grandstand Member, and his wife Heather won the Major Prize in the Raiders Rewards competition that was held over the pre-season.

The Major Prize was a VIP Trip to Melbourne which included flights, transfers, luxury accommodation, a Yarra Valley day experience, exclusive cocktail function and two tickets to the 20/20 International between Australia and England.

“We can’t wait for the NRL season to begin regardless but now we are even more excited to cheer on the mighty Raiders after going on this awesome trip,” Bryan said. “We’ve been Raiders Members for close to 10 years now and I can’t thank the club enough for being able to go on this trip.

“It’s just another unexpected perk of being a Raiders Member. I had to check the date when the Raiders staff member first contacted me about the trip because I thought it must have been April Fool’s Day!

“The trip was absolutely awesome and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it, given that we are both cricket tragics. The cricket was just the icing on the cake, especially because we had a good win, but it was everything that was involved as well that made it special.

“The trip down with all the guys and meeting Darren Lehmann and David ‘Bumble’ Lloyd, an English cricket commentator who has a tremendous sense of humour, was just fantastic.

“There were 750 people at the cocktail party and we met some terrific people there from all over the country. We then went out to a winery on the Yarra Valley which was just as good. There was plenty to eat and plenty to drink.”

Never afraid to show his passion for the Raiders, Bryan was thrilled to be able to portray his passion for the club to the different people he met throughout the trip.

“WIN Television organise the trip through Cricket Australia Travel Office (CATO) and most of the packages go to companies so a lot of people would ask us where we were from and we were able to proudly say that we were representing the Raiders as a Member.

“All in all it was a really awesome experience and of course it’s another unexpected perk of being a Raiders Member. I did send an email to thank the club but I’d just like to once again thank the Raiders for the opportunity to go on this trip.

“I hope that the Raiders can do us proud this year and we can have a season to remember. We can’t wait for the start of the NRL season to get underway and you’ll most definitely see me at the first home game of the year against the Gold Coast Titans in Round 3.”
