Raiders forward Mark Nicholls managed five games for the Raiders in 2015, getting an opportunity early in the season before finishing the year for Mounties in the NSW cup.
Nicholls came into the Raiders team in round four against the Roosters and played his five matches between then and round nine against the Titans, before injury struck and halted his season. The injury kept Nicholls out for five weeks and he was unable to force his way back into the NRL side.
Coming from the interchange bench Nicholls averaged seven runs per game at NRL level, at an average of just over 10m per run. He also averaged 17 tackles per game in his five appearances.
Late in the season Nicholls was one of the form players in the NSW Cup and was a massive part of the Mounties go forward as they progressed through to the preliminary final. His combination up front with the like of Kyle O’Donnell and Jeff Lynch gave the Mounties key go forward in their approach to the finals and subsequent finals series.
A Raiders junior Nicholls departed the club at the end of the 2015 season and will take up a new deal with the Melbourne Storm. The Raiders wish him all the best of luck at his new club and thank him for his commitment and service to the club in his time in green.
