Canberra Raiders forward Luke Bateman has re-signed with the club on a one-year deal for the 2019 season.

Bateman was off contract at the end of 2018 and has agreed to terms on a new deal for next year.

He said he is happy to have the deal finalised and is looking forward to continuing his career in green.

"It's great to have another season locked away here in Canberra and I'm really looking forward to the next year and a half," Bateman said. "I feel like I'm getting the consistency I need to play regular NRL footy and I'm looking forward to the challenges ahead."

Raiders CEO Don Furner said it was great news to have Bateman locked away for another season.

"Luke has come through our junior ranks and established himself as a regular NRL player," Furner said.

"We're happy he's decided to stay with us for another season and we look forward to watching him continue to improve and be a leader in our squad."
