Canberra Raiders forward Sia Soliola has agreed to a new two-year deal, which will see him remain with the Raiders until the end of the 2020 season.
Soliola, 31, has been in fantastic form for the Raiders this season and continues to be one of the leaders amongst the Raiders NRL squad. He's played 73 matches for the Raiders since joining the club in 2015.
Soliola said he's thrilled to re-sign with the Green Machine and believes the club is heading in the right direction.
"I'm really excited and happy to be remaining in Canberra. I broke the news to my son Israel and he's really excited too. Canberra has become a home for our family and we are looking forward to staying here," Soliola said. "Although our results on the field haven't been where we wanted to be this year I know we've got a very talented group of players here for the next couple of seasons and I'm very humbled to be a part of that."
"I'm really settled in Canberra and I like to think I've still got my best years of footy ahead"
Raiders Recruitment and High-Performance Manager Peter Mulholland said Soliola gives the Raiders an experienced leader in the forward pack for the next two seasons.
"Sia Soliola is a huge part of our squad and the work he does for the team both on and off the field is really important for us," Mulholland said. "He's been playing some really strong and consistent footy for us again this season and we know he'll continue to do so for the next two seasons."
