Round 13 of the Austbrokers Canberra Raiders Cup is packed with action as the finals race heats up.
Woden Valley Rams v West Belconnen Warriors – 3pm, Sunday July 8 - Phillip District / Live Stream
The Woden Valley Rams are arguably the form side of the competition having not tasted defeat in their last six matches.
Having not been inside the to four since Round 2, the Rams will be striving to return there with finals looming.
"We did start the year off a bit rocky", said Woden center Josh Pheeney. "It just took us a little but of time to get our combinations gelling. Having Lincoln Withers in there has been a massive boost for us
"It comes down to Ash Barnes too. We've been priding ourselves on our team culture and I think a lot of our recent performances having been on the back of effort."
Standing in their way this weekend are the West Belconnen Warriors, who have been a mainstay in the top four this season.
Despite, the side having only lost two matches this season Warriors prop Daniel Killick-Moran says coach Troy Thompson hasn't been overly impressed with his side yet.
"I ring him up every week and ask what he thought of the game," Killick-Moran said. "He's pretty critical of us but I think it's good because it means that there is always room for improvement.
"Woden are the form side of the competition at the moment. We've gone into this thinking that it's going to be our biggest challenge yet and we really need to step up to the task."
Tuggeranong Bushrangers v Yass Magpies – 3pm, Saturday July 7 – Greenway / Live Stream
First hosts fourth as the Tuggeranong Bushrangers and Yass Magpies clash on Saturday afternoon.
The Bushrangers will be looking to start as they did last week against Goulburn, as they hope to maintain their spot at the top of the ladder.
Yass will be looking to bounce back from their first loss since Round 5, knowing that they could drop down to sixth place if they don't win.
Only a converted try separated the two sides when they met earlier this season and with the two sides boasting some of the best defensive records in the competition, it could be a tight encounter again.
Queanbeyan Blues v Gungahlin Bulls – 3pm, Saturday July 7 – Seiffert Oval
The Queanbeyan Blues will be aiming to snap a four game winless streak when they take on the Gungahlin Bulls.
Having drawn against the Sharks in their last outing, the Blues need a win to spark their title defence.
The Bulls will be looking to halt a losing streak of their own, as they have gone six matches without a win.
Queanbeyan enjoyed a 36-16 win when the two sides met earlier this season and will be hoping for a repeat performance at their home ground.
Goulburn Workers Bulldogs v Queanbeyan Kangaroos – 3pm, Saturday July 7 – Workers Arena
The Queanbeyan Kangaroos will be hoping to keep pace with the top two sides in the competition as they travel to Workers Arena to take on the Goulburn Workers Bulldogs.
Having enjoyed the bye last weekend, the Kangaroos will be fresh and aiming for consistency with the finals within sight.
Goulburn, on the other hand, will be aiming to bounce back from last week's defeat against Tuggeranong as the club build towards next season.
