The Canberra Raiders Jersey Flegg side will look for their third straight win this Saturday when they take on the St George Illawarra Dragons at Centenary Field, Albion Park.
The Raiders scored nine tries last week as they defeated the Manly Sea Eagles 48-12 at GIO Stadium. Gideon Afemui and Manase Kaho both scored doubles in the dominant win.
The Dragons are also coming off a huge 42-22 win over the New Zealand Warriors at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium. The win has pushed the Dragons into eighth position on the ladder heading into the final week.
The Raiders currently sit in fifth, tied with the Penrith Panthers and Newcastle Knights on 24 points and will be eyeing off that third spot position heading into the first week of finals next week.
Coach Ash Barnes is looking forward to this weekend's match and is hoping his side can finish the regular season with a win.
"It's been a long year but a good one. We're looking forward to a tough game because the Dragons have been hitting some good form and are playing for a finals spot."
Barnes also admitted that his side will be looking to secure a top-four spot which was something that they set out to achieve this year.
"It's been a goal that we set ourselves at the start of the season. Obviously a win this weekend will go a long way into determining that."
"We've had a few players come back from injury and some of them were able to get some minutes against the Sea Eagles last weekend."
"We were happy with how we attacked the game last weekend against Manly but we've spoken about improving on our defence this week and it's something will be looking to get right heading into this weekend's match.
