Raiders School to Work students enjoy All-Stars Camp

Three students from the Canberra Raiders school to work program had the opportunity of a lifetime this week, as they joined the Indigenous All-Stars on the Gold Coast for the Indigenous Youth Summit.

Lester Davis, Ruby Riley-Brown and Marie Slockee Albert represented the Raiders at the summit alongside Raiders School to Work Project Officer Jefferson Taylor and had the opportunity to spend some time with the Indigenous team ahead of this week's All-Star match including Raiders star Jack Wighton.

The Students were greeted by a Welcome to Country and introduced into the local Yugambeh culture, with a Corroboree at Dreamworld, followed by some fun with the team at WhiteWater World.

Then on day two of the summit, the students spent time in a variety of cultural and leadership workshops with members of both the men and women Indigenous all-Stars teams.

Acknowledgement of Country

Canberra Raiders respect and honour the Traditional Custodians of the land and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and future. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on.
