The Canberra Raiders will wear the clubs Raiders Foundation jersey on Saturday night at GIO Stadium, which features names of Raiders supporters and families.
The Foundation jersey concept was launched in November 2019, with 165 Raiders supporters donating to the Raiders Foundation. Their name or families name will now head onto the field Saturday night along with the 17 Raiders players selected to take on the Roosters.
The match-worn jerseys will be auctioned off through www.allbids.com.au post-match, with the money raised going towards the Raiders Foundation.
The jersey is also available for purchase through www.raidersshop.com.au (limited sizes available)
The Raiders Foundation has been established in partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation, to help ensure the ongoing success of the club driving growth both on and off the field.
Money raised from the foundation jersey will be used to help provide an opportunity for young athletes (male and female) to maximise their potential both on and off the field through education and learn the disciplines that are necessary for them to succeed in their chosen career.
Raiders CEO Don Furner said the Raiders Foundation jersey was another example of how Raiders fans could support the club through the Raiders Foundation and money raised would be used to undertake several key programs in the future.
“The Raiders partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation enables us to achieve long term success both on and off the field,” Furner said. “We are facing are unprecedented times in the game, and the Raiders Foundation is a key component of helping to assure our club can continue the many community programs we undertake in Canberra and the surrounding regions.
