Origin Frankenstein: Create the ultimate Origin player
Here's your chance to get into the lab and create the ultimate State of Origin "Frankenstein's monster" – the best possible player from 40 years of Origin history.
We've set up nine categories, you select a player in each one to custom design a player possessing elite attributes in his every appendage. The results and the entire Frankenstein's monster will be revealed on Friday the 13th of November.
For the head, the source of the creativity that generates try assists, do you go for midfield generals like Andrew Johns and Cooper Cronk, forces of nature such as Wally Lewis and Brad Fittler or crafty types like Ben Elias and Cameron Smith?
For the shoulders we look to the tackling machines who have made a career out of cutting rival ball-runners down to size. Candidates of the calibre of Bradley Clyde, Trevor Gillmeister, Wayne Pearce and Tonie Carroll mean we're spoiled for choice.
Just as core muscles generate power, the torso represents the workaholics who are front of the queue to cart the ball up from minute one to minute 80 and are best represented by Paul Gallen, Gorden Tallis, James Tedesco and Gary Larson.
The right arm is dedicated to the big men, offloading maestros like Arthur Beetson and Steve Roach who have the strength to stand up in a tackle and the finesse to deliver the perfect pass to a ball-runner hitting the line at speed.
The left arm is for those who proved they can fend for themselves, legendary tackle busters such as Ian Roberts, Ben Kennedy, Bob Lindner and Greg Inglis making ideal donors.
The metre eaters, hard men who were relentless in their mission to win the field position battle one carry at a time, lay claim to the right leg. Think Shane Webcke, Paul Harragon, Petero Civoniceva or Glenn Lazarus.
Once they're done it's the job of the left leg to exploit their hard-won gains via line-break artistes possessing the power of Michael Hancock, the speed of Billy Slater, the elusiveness of Brett Kenny or the all-round threat of a Jarryd Hayne.
The right boot is responsible for producing the kick metres that get a side out of trouble and ask serious questions of the opposition. Here we can graft on a Ricky Stuart, an Allan Langer or a Peter Sterling.
Finally, the left boot piles on the extras and for that we can call on the locked-in radar of elite goal-kickers such as Johnathan Thurston, James Maloney, Mal Meninga and Ryan Girdler.
