The Queanbeyan Blues will be looking to improve on their 2020 season this year, with the Canberra Raiders Cup competition starting next weekend.

Former Canberra Raiders player Terry Campese returns as first grade coach, having led the Monaro rep side to a Country Championships title earlier this year.

The 37-year-old brings a wealth of experience to the side, and says he’s happy that all the teams are back this year.

Queanbeyan has maintained most of last year’s squad, including some exciting juniors.

Many of the Blues reserve grade players had to step up and play in the first-grade team last season due to a growing injury toll and lack of numbers, giving them some valuable experience.

One player that has particularly impressed Campese has been Isaiah Latu. The lock played for the Queanbeyan Whites last year in rugby union, but is a key addition to the Blues squad this season.

Latu was one of eight Blues players in the Monaro Country Championships rep squad this year.

Hear from First Grade coach Terry Campese, KFS halfback Taylor Galjaardt and League Tag five-eighth Courtney Doyle as they preview the 2021 season.
