Raiders provide Meals from the Heart

Canberra Raiders Bailey Simonsson, Matt Timoko and Brad Schneider visited Ronald McDonald House Canberra on Tuesday night as part of the Meals from the Heart initiative.

The Raiders are long time supporters of Ronald McDonald House Canberra and have been involved with the Meals from the Heart program over the last few years.

The meal was provided by the Mawson Club, with the players helping to prepare the food for the families staying at the house.

Raiders Community Program and Support Manager, Sarah Williams, said it was a wonderful way for the families at RMHC to relax and spend some time together.

“This program allows families staying at the Ronald McDonald House with sick children the opportunity to enjoy a meal together without the stress of having to organise it themselves during what are very busy days in the house,” Ms Williams said. “It gives our players the chance to see how Ronald McDonald House supports regional families by providing them with a home away from home.”
