The Canberra Raiders will recognise a significant milestone in club history in 2022, as they celebrate their 40th Anniversary.

The Raiders entered the New South Wales Rugby League premiership in 1982 and have enjoyed a proud and wonderful history since, playing in six grand finals and securing three premierships.

In 2022, the Raiders will use the season to remember and celebrate our people (including members and fans) and on-field and off-field highlights. We are proud of our unwavering commitment and contributions to Canberra, Queanbeyan and the surrounding region, and we look forward to reflecting on this with our community.

The club has already announced a partnership with the Canberra Museum and Gallery for a special exhibition in early 2022, with Canberra Raiders: 40 Years in the Limelight set to celebrate and reflect on the history of the club.

Raiders CEO Don Furner said 2022 was an opportunity for Raiders members and fans to celebrate the 40-year anniversary with the club and enjoy the return of live sport to the Canberra region.

“We’re very excited to be returning home to Canberra in 2022 and it’s the perfect opportunity for our club to recognise the past and support the present as we reach our 40-year milestone,” Furner said. “The Raiders are synonymous with Canberra and the community and we can’t wait to spend the season back in Canberra with our club members and fans.”
