Junior Reps Round Six Wrap

It was a great weekend for the Raiders SG Ball and Harold Matts sides with both teams recording strong wins, while the Tarsha Gale side fell to the Wests Tigers. 

SG Ball Cup

The Raiders SG Ball side notched up their second win of the season with a resounding 44-12 win over the Victoria Thunderbolts at Greenway Oval on Sunday. 

The Raiders attack was very impressive throughout the game, running in eight tries to the Thunderbolts two. 

The home side were first on the scoreboard, with hooker Stan Iongi scoring in the 10th minute and Blake Metcalfe converting. 

The Thunderbolts hit back just five minutes later after a try to Suliasi Prescott. Bishop Walker added the two points to level the scores at 6-6. 

But the Raiders put the foot down and scored the next three tries, with Prinston Esera, David White and Matthew Wheatley all going over for four-pointers. The Raiders went into the half-time break with a 24-6 lead. 

The men in green picked up where they left off in the second half, with tries to Jordan Eti, Thomas Carey and Iongi extending the lead to 38-6. 

Victoria got one back through Devisarn Ene but it was the Raiders who got the last try of the day with Corey Lewis scoring right on the full-time siren.

Harold Matthews Cup

The Raiders Harold Matts side sit in sixth place on the ladder after an 18-point win over the Central Coast Roosters at Greenway Oval on Sunday. 

It was a dominant display by the Raiders side in what was their second win of the season. 

The Roosters jumped out to an early 6-0 lead, with a try to halfback Jake Elliott. 

But from there it was all the Raiders in the first half, with Sam Chapman, Mathias Tomuli-Ah-Kuoi, Sam Gash, Jack Clutterbuck and Lekani Mpaso all scoring tries to give the home side a 24-6 half-time lead. 

The Roosters started the second half strongly, running in two quick tries to close the gap to 24-18.

But the Raiders were able to wrestle back momentum, with centre Siamani Leuluai scoring a double to seal the win. 

Harold Matthews Cup Round 6 Highlights

Tarsha Gale Cup

The Raiders Tarsha Gale side suffered a tough 24-12 loss to Wests Tigers in Camden on Saturday. 

The Raiders were first on the scoreboard, with fullback Georgia Willey scoring a four-pointer and halfback Makayla Morris converting to give the side a 6-0 lead after 10 minutes of play.

The Tigers hit back just before half-time with a try to Jae Patu, with the score at 6-4 after the first half. 

Raiders halfback Morris scored next after the break, converting her own try to put her side ahead 12-4. 

But the Tigers proved too strong, running in three straight tries to win the game.
