The Goulburn City Bulldogs look refreshed, recharged and ready to go for a big 2022 Canberra Raiders Cup campaign. Led by captain-coach Tyson Greenwood, their tough brand of footy will sure to be on display again this season.

The Bulldogs finished in fifth place last season with five wins, six losses and two draws.

Goulburn were unfortunate to lose key players over the offseason in Jesse Martin to the Woden Valley Rams and Isaac Walker who has joined forces with the Gungahlin Bulls.

They will sure to leave an empty spot although, captain-coach Tyson Greenwood has backed a young talent to fill the vacant number six jumper.

"Losing those two boys... they played pretty key positions for us and one of the key priorities this offseason was filling those two spots," Greenwood said.

We've trusted one of our young local boys that's played a lot of rep footy. He'll be making his first grade debut this weekend in Josh Latham, to step up and take the five-eighth position."

Star signing Ron Leapai spoke to CRRL media about their expectations this year as a club and their excitement for this season.

"We’re keen to just give it our best. Go out there and play with our hearts on our sleeves. Play for each other and hopefully come out with the result,” Leapai said.

Obviously it’s that long term goal of winning the premiership but we’ll see how we go. We’ve got a young side so we’ll just play for each other each week.”

Goulburn Katrina Fanning Shield player Mackenzie Dodds also spoke upon the club's preseason and their goals for the 2022 season.

“We’ve been training since the back end of last year. As a club, we had been training together. Now, the girls have gone off to do their own thing. We’re getting a lot of new people, a lot of young girls which is exciting,” Dodds said.

We definitely want to make finals. The last couple of years we’ve played in a few grand finals so main goal is to win. But as a club, we’d like to sit high on the ladder.”

The Goulburn City Bulldogs will feature in this weekend's match of the round when they take on the Belconnen United Sharks at NSWRL HQ Bruce on Saturday April 2nd.
