The Canberra Raiders Jersey Flegg side secured a great win on Saturday afternoon, picking up a 32-20 win over the Newcastle Knights at Raiders Belconnen.
It was arguably the biggest win for the Raiders this season as they were able to defeat the Knights who are currently sitting in third on the ladder.
It was a great team performance for the green machine as they managed to cross over for six tries against the Knights, who have the second best defensive record in the competition.
It was a fast start for the Raiders as they jumped out to a 10-0 lead after seven minutes, with tries to Joshua Pokoney and Noah Saddler.
The Knights answered back in the 11th minute to bring the game within four points before the Raiders extended their lead through Josh Billing in the 20th minute.
Both sides went back and forth for the remainder of the first half as the Raiders led 20-10 at the break.
The Raiders started the second half just as fast with Loghan Lewis scoring in the 47th minute to extend the Raiders lead to 16 points.
But the Knights were not going to go away, scoring two tries in the 55th and 63rd minute to bring the deficit back to six points.
However, the Raiders put the Knights away with a try to Mitchel Souter in the 68th minute which sealed a 32-20 victory for the green machine.
The Raiders have moved up to seventh on the ladder and will be hoping to back up this performance with a win over the Dragons next Sunday in Sydney.
