The Raiders are proud to support the Crazy Socks campaign this weekend, raising awareness for the Men of League Foundation.
The team will wear the Crazy Socks when they take on the Melbourne Storm this Sunday in round 18.
This annual campaign aims to raise awareness of the community work undertaken through the Men of League’s National Wellbeing Program, with proceeds raised from sales of the socks helping to fund this program.
In 2022, Men of League are celebrating their 20th year of operation and are proud to announce that in that time they have spent more than $10m on direct physical, emotional and financial support for those in the grassroots rugby league community who are experiencing hardship.
The National Wellbeing Program assists the volunteer coaches, managers, gear stewards, groundsmen, canteen ladies, referees and club administrators who have made tireless contributions to their local footy clubs.
The support provided is broad and can range from immediate assistance grants for basics such as food and fuel vouchers, to medical and surgical costs and home renovations for access and mobility purposes. They may be called upon to provide something as simple as a hospital visit or even just a phone call to someone who is struggling or physically isolated.
Men of League have a dedicated network of 38 volunteer committees across QLD, NSW and Victoria, with offices in Sydney and Brisbane.
Men of League CEO Stephen Lowndes is right behind the campaign.
“Crazy Socks is a fun way to raise awareness of the great work the Foundation does to support the men, women and children of the rugby league community," Lowndes said.
"Our Wellbeing Program exists to support those who help put the game on the park each weekend, and find themselves going through a rough patch. The clear message is, reach out if you need a hand”
