Men of League donation to former St George half Rod McGregor

Former premiership winning halfback Rod McGregor of Yass, received a signed Canberra Raiders jersey on behalf of the Men of League foundation.

Rod (aged 67) was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease about two years ago after what was a prolific rugby league career with the St George Dragons and South Sydney.

Rod is one of very few players to win a premiership in their debut season, being an important member of the 'Bath's Babes' St George Dragons team that won the 1977 Grand Final.

The Men of League Foundation have kindly donated a signed 2022 Canberra Raiders jersey and have provided financial assistance to Rod and his family through this difficult period.

Former Raider Sia Soliola and CRRL Chairman Gary Green were both in attendance to present the jersey to Rod and his wife Lynn at their home on Saturday morning.

Rod has selflessly made the decision to donate his brain to the Australian Sports Brain Bank for extensive research into concussion related injuries.

The CRRL wish Rod and his family the very best as Rod continues to receive treatment.
