The second row position saw some stability in 2022, with three players predominantly used throughout the season.
Captain Elliott Whitehead, Hudson Young and Corey Harawira-Naera all spent time starting in the second row this season, while Adam Elliott and Ryan Sutton also started a game there.
Young had a stellar season with the Raiders, making the left side second row spot his own and building a dangerous combination with Jack Wighton, Sebastian Kris and Nick Cotric.
Young played 24 games this year, starting in the second row in all of those games. He missed just two games for the Raiders, with an injury forcing him to miss round five and having played for the Raiders NSW Cup team in round six.
The 24-year-old scored 14 tries throughout the season and was equal top try scorer along with Sebastian Kris. His tries against the Sharks in round one and the Knights in round 15 proved to be match winners, giving the team an important two points on both occasions.
Young also registered 11 line breaks, 71 tackle breaks and 825 post contact metres this season, while also making 716 tackles and averaging 106 running metres per game.
Young was awarded the NRL Coaches' Award at this year's 2022 Meninga Medal, a great reward for his outstanding season.
