Breaking down Raiders home games in 2023

With the announcement of the 2023 NRL season draw, there are some big games to look forward to, including 12 home games.

Here is a break down of each of the Raiders home games for the 2023 season.

Round 3 - Raiders v Sharks, Sunday 19 March 6:15pm

Our first Viking Clap of the 2023 season will be in round three when the Raiders take on the Sharks on Sunday at 6:15pm.

After two games in Queensland to open the season, the Raiders will relish coming back to Canberra to play in front of a home crowd for the first time in 2023.

The Raiders defeated the Sharks twice last season, at home in round one and up at Magic Round in Brisbane in round 10.

Round 5 - Raiders v Panthers, Friday 31 March 6pm

Our next home game sees the Raiders take on the 2022 premiers in round five.

It will be the first Friday night game of the season for the Raiders, with a total of six Friday games throughout 2023 for the green machine.

Matches against Penrith always have a bit of extra sting in them, so looking forward to see what this match offers.

Round 7 - Raiders v Dragons, Sunday 16 April 2pm

The Raiders take on the Dragons in round seven on Sunday afternoon at GIO Stadium Canberra.

The green machine defeated the Dragons last season at home, while the Dragons recorded a tight victory in Wollongong.

There will be plenty of interesting battles across the park in this clash.

Round 9 - Raiders v Dolphins, Saturday 29 April 3pm at McDonalds Park Wagga Wagga

The Raiders will once again take one of their home games to Wagga Wagga in 2023, where they will take on the Dolphins on Saturday afternoon.

The Raiders have played in Wagga Wagga four times in the last five years, building on the connection with our regional areas.

The opportunity to see the new team the Redcliffe Dolphins will be extra exciting for the locals, while it will be the second time the Raiders will have played the Dolphins, having played them in round two up at Redcliffe.

Round 11 - Raiders v Eels, Saturday 13 May 7:35pm

The Raiders will be looking for revenge against Parramatta when they travel to Canberra in round 11.

The two sides played in the preliminary final in 2022, with the Eels proving too good, winning 40-4.

The Raiders will be keen to get one back on the Eels, who also won at GIO Stadium last year in Indigenous Round.

Round 12 - Raiders v Sea Eagles, Sunday 21 May 4:05pm

Who could forget the final home game of the 2022 season? The Raiders, needing to win the last four games of the regular season, defeated the Sea Eagles 48-6 on Saturday afternoon.

It was an outstanding match from the Raiders, who will once again be looking to put in a top performance against Manly in this clash.

Round 15 - Raiders v Warriors, Friday 9 June 6pm

After two games up in Sydney, the Raiders will return to Canberra to take on the Warriors in round 15.

Leading into a bye, this match could serve as a four-point win, all important in the race for a top eight position.

The Raiders defeated the Warriors at GIO Stadium Canberra last year in round 19, winning 26-14.

Round 18 - Raiders v Titans, Saturday 1 July 3pm

The Raiders will take on the Titans in round 18 on Saturday afternoon at GIO Stadium Canberra.

Our last home game against the Titans was back in round three last season, where the Raiders came back from 22-0 down to win 24-22 in a thriller.

The Raiders only play the Titans once this season.

Round 22 - Raiders v Knights, Saturday 29 July 3pm

The green machine return home in round 22, after two away games and a bye round.

The Raiders defeated the Knights twice last season, with a Hudson Young try in the final minute of the game sealing the win at home in round 15.

This home game is the final Saturday 3pm game of the season.

Round 23 - Raiders v Tigers, Sunday 6 August 4:05pm

Back to back home games sees the Raiders take on the Tigers the following week on Sunday afternoon.

This will be the first time since round one in 2021 that the Tigers will play in Canberra.

The Sunday afternoon timeslot is a great one for families to come out and enjoy some great footy.

Round 25 - Raiders v Bulldogs, Sunday August 20 4:05pm

Another Sunday afternoon clash at home, this time against the Bulldogs in round 25.

The Raiders will play the Bulldogs at Magic Round in round ten, before getting another crack at them in at home in the third last game of the regular season.

The Raiders played the Bulldogs once last season, defeating them 14-4 at home during the club's 40th anniversary celebrations.

Round 26 - Raiders v Broncos, Saturday August 26 7:35pm

The final home game of the season will be in round 26 against the Broncos on Saturday night.

The Raiders will be looking to finish their season off strongly, with finals footy fast approaching.

Brisbane last came to Canberra in round 14 of the 2021 season, while the Raiders have won three of the last four games against the Broncos.
