Rolling Raiders Wheelchair RL successful development in Bathurst

The Rolling Raiders Wheelchair Rugby League program made a successful three-day road trip to Bathurst, partnering with local schools, disability clinics and rugby league clubs to grow the sport in the Bathurst region.

The Rolling Raiders were privileged to use the sporting facilities at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst.

We welcomed the Skillset Senior College and Carenne School to private sessions on day one where over 50 participants got involved.

Local disability support services Glenray Industries and Vivability arrived on day two to engage in skill activities followed by a game of wheelchair rugby league.

The Rolling Raiders then partnered with Bathurst Indoor Basketball Stadium to host a two-hour come and try event open to the general public.

Much appreciation to the Blayney Bears RLFC who had large participation numbers in the event, with a strong interest in the growth of the sport within Bathurst and the Western regions.

The Rolling Raiders Wheelchair Rugby League are continually looking to grow the sport within Canberra and the surrounding regions with the long-term goal of a state-wide competition.
