Congratulations to Darby Medlyn of the Tuggeranong Bushrangers for his selection at lock-forward in the 2022 Canberra Raiders Cup Team of the Year.

Darby had a fantastic year in his first season in the Canberra Raiders Cup, departing the Canberra Raiders in 2021 to sign with the Tuggeranong Bushrangers.

Medlyn, who brings first-grade NRL experience, gave a massive boost the Tuggeranong club, leading the side to a third-place finish.

Medlyn plays well above his weight, typically packing the scrum at lock-forward, but proved his versatility this year after a mid-season switch to five-eighth.

Darby finished third in McIntyre Medal voting after the Bushrangers made a late push to the finals, claiming nine points in their last five games.

Medlyn also enjoyed being apart of the Monaro Colts representative side which competed in the Country Championships, along with selection in the NSW Country side which famously beat City 36-34 earlier this year.

The former Raider rounds out the starting 13 in the 2022 Canberra Raiders Cup Team of the Year, adding experience, versatility and great ball-playing ability.

Medlyn joins Bushrangers teammates Zac Saddler and Liam Oakley, who were rewarded with selection after their consistency in 2022.
