Junior Reps Wrap Round One 2023

A great start to the 2023 season for the Raiders Harold Matthews and SG Ball Cup sides, with both teams recording round one wins.

Harold Matthews Cup

The Raiders defeated the Central Coast Roosters 30-28 at Morry Breen Oval on Saturday in their opening round clash.

Leading 20-12 at the half-time break, the Raiders were able to hold off a fast-finishing Roosters outfit to secure victory.

Both teams scored five tries a piece, with a successful penalty goal by Raiders fullback Braydan Darmody proving the difference.

Jonah Anderson, Harry Hudson, Lachlan Cunanan, Emmett Smith and Andrew Muir were the try-scorers for the Raiders.

The win sees the Raiders finish the round in sixth place on the ladder.

The side travel to Henson Park in Sydney to take on the Sydney Roosters in round two.

SG Ball Cup

The Raiders SG Ball side had the perfect start to their season with a 66-0 thrashing of the Melbourne Storm on Saturday.

The Raiders lead 34-0 at half-time before going on with the job in the second half, holding the Storm to zero as well.

In what was an impressive attacking display the Raiders scored 12 tries during the game.

Chevy Stewart scored a hat-trick, while lock Owen Hromow scored a double.

Atini Tuialii, Owen Pattie, Tahrell Feaveai, Jaxon Lavender, Noah Martin, Ryan Woolley and Elvis Nauer-Wood were the Raiders' other try scorers.

Samuel Gash kicked nine from 12 conversions.

The win sees the Raiders on top of the ladder after round one.

They take on the Sydney Roosters next weekend at Henson Park in Sydney.
