All three Raiders junior representative teams are at Raiders Belconnen for the first time this season as the SG Ball and Harold Matts sides look to remain undefeated, while the Tarsha Gale team seek their second win of the season.
Harold Matthews Cup
After winning their opening three games to start the season, the Raiders Harold Matts team are at home this weekend to take on the Western Suburbs Magpies.
The Raiders side have fought hard through some adversity to start the season, something that coach Rourke O'Sullivan has been proud of.
“Our first three weeks being away has been a bit of a challenge," O'Sullivan said.
"We’ve actually had a fair few injuries and different combinations as well but all the boys have just done whatever role they’ve been given or position they’ve been put in and have done their job for the team.
"It’s been a great start and we’re looking forward to this weekend.”
The Raiders and Magpies are the only undefeated teams remaining in the competition, so the stage is set for a cracking match. O'Sullivan believes his team are up for the job.
"We know they are going to be really tough, they are strong across the board but I know the boys are ready for the challenge and are looking forward to showing them what we’ve got," O'Sullivan said.
"Being back at home and having some family and friends out there to watch will be awesome for the boys so it should be good."
There have been a couple of changes to the side ahead of this weekend's clash. Zildjian Tafili will start at prop, replacing Thomas Handsaker.
Andrew Muir has been named at lock, with Brock Apolevski dropping back to the bench.
Kick off for the big clash is at 12:30pm at Raiders Belconnen this Saturday 25th February.
