Junior Reps Preview Round Eight

All three Raiders junior reps teams will play at Ron Costello Oval in Shellharbour this Saturday, with the sides hoping to finalise their place for finals in two weeks time.

All three games will be live-streamed on NSWRL TV via the NSWRL Facebook page.

Tarsha Gale Cup

The Raiders Tarsha Gale Cup side will be playing a very important game this weekend when they face off against the Illawarra Steelers in a fight toward finals.

The Raiders currently sit in sixth position on equal points with their opponents this weekend, with only two rounds left before finals.

The Raiders team will go into the round with an unchanged side after their 22-6 win over the Cronulla Sharks last week.

Meanwhile the Steelers will have Hunter-Lee Afoa-Peterson Patrick and Sienna Morgan coming in for Elise Farrant and Kelsie Frankham after their 24-10 win over the North Sydney Bears.

Raiders Coach Josh Hardy said that this weekend’s game is a crucial one.

“The next two weeks are really important if we want to play finals footy which we haven’t done in a long time,” Hardy said.

The last time the Raiders side made it to finals was in 2019.

India Dyball and Abbie Grant are two players that coach Hardy said he will be relying on in such an important game this Saturday.

“Young India Dyball is playing really well through the middle she’s been in another dimension after we moved her from the edge to the middle, she has been really physical," Hardy said.

“Abbie runs a really good line but she also has the capacity to ball play as well.”

The Raiders will play the Steelers this Saturday March 25 at Ron Costello Oval, Shellharbour with an 11am kick-off.

Harold Matthews Cup

The Raiders Harold Matts side will be taking on the Illawarra Steelers this Saturday at 12:30pm following the Tarsha Gale match.

The Raiders will be looking to get over the Steelers having only won one of the past five games played against each other.

The Raiders have had a few changes naming Matthew Cox and Thomas Handsaker who are in for Harvey Gay and Jacob Mau-Pohiva.

The Raiders are coming off a four-point win over the Sharks last weekend.

The Steelers have also had a few changes naming Dreau Clark, Josiah Clifford, and Zane Timmins who have replaced Harry Middleton, Jett Rorie, and Joseph Elton.

The Steelers beat the North Sydney Bears last week in a 50-6 thrashing.

The Raiders are currently sitting third on the ladder while the Steelers are in fifth position, just two points behind them.

The game will kick off at 12:30pm at Ron Costello Oval, Shellharbour.

SG Ball Cup

The Raiders SG Ball side will take on the Illawarra Steelers this weekend at Ron Costello Oval in Shellharbour as the final game of the day.

The Raiders will be looking to continue their dominance over the SG Ball competition and stay undefeated.

The Raiders team has had a few changes this week with Eddie Tiaina, Jacob Iosefa, and Niu Mariota coming in for Regan Carr and Trent Jeffrey.

The side had their seventh straight win last week beating the Sharks 30-22.

Meanwhile the Steelers are coming off a 12-point win over the North Sydney Bears and have named an unchanged side.

The Raiders are currently undefended sitting in first position on the ladder while the Steelers are in eighth.

The clash will kick off at 2pm at Ron Costello Oval, Shellharbour.
