It was a tough weekend for the Raiders’ junior reps sides, with the SG Ball side suffering their first defeat of the season, while the Harrold Matthews and Tarsha Gale sides went down to the Steelers.
SG Ball
After winning seven straight games, the Raiders SG Ball side’s winning streak came to an end on Saturday after being defeated 26-10 by the Steelers.
The Steelers were determined to make a statement against the undefeated Raiders side, scoring in the eighth minute and setting the tone early.
The Steelers ran in another two unanswered tries to take a 14-0 lead at halftime.
It was Atini Tuialii who tried to turn things around for the Raiders, scoring after the break in the 43rd minute to make it 14-4.
This momentum shift did not last long, with Steelers’ five-eighth Lyhkan King-Togia scoring in the 48th minute. Ashton Ward made the conversion to extend the Steelers’ lead to 20-4.
Raider’s winger Jacob Iosefa later crashed over the line in the 62nd minute, with Gash making the conversion to make it 20-10.
The Steelers ran in a final try just before fulltime to defeat the Raiders 26-10.
After suffering their first loss of the season, the Raiders will look to bounce back next week when they take on the Tigers.

Harold Matthews
The Raiders’ Harold Matthews side suffered their second loss of the season over the weekend, after being defeated by the Steelers 30-12.
The scoring started early, with the Steelers running over the line first in the third minute to give themselves a 4-0 lead.
Hayden Buchanan scored his first of the match in the 25th minute with Kade Reed making the conversion to further the Steelers lead to 10-0.
Patrick Dawson put the Raiders first points on the board after half time thanks to a silky left side play by the team, and a smart offload by James Croker. Braydan Darmody made the conversion to make the score 10-6.
It was a back and forth battle, with the Steelers scoring to take a 16-6 lead in the 39th minute.
Raiders captain Jonah Anderson later borrowed over, scoring from dummy-half after squeezing through the Steelers defence.
Darmody made his second conversion of the match to lessen the Steelers 16-12 lead.
In the 49th minute Hayden Buchanan completed his hattrick, with the Steelers taking a 22-12 lead.
The Steelers ran in another two late tries to cap off their 30-12 victory.
The Raiders will look to get the win next week when they take on the Tigers at Leichhardt Oval.

Tarsha Gale
The Raiders Tarsha Gale side went down to the Steelers on Saturday after suffering a 44-6 defeat in Shellharbour.
The side will struggle to make finals after Saturdays result, with the Steelers proving too good on the day.
It did not take long for the Steelers to get on the scoreboard, scoring in the second minute to take an early 6-0 lead.
The Steelers scored another three unanswered tries, with the score settled at 22-0 at the break.
Sulieti Ahio scored for the Steelers after the break to further their lead to 28-0.
Hooker Kayla Fleming scored the Raiders only try of the game in the 37th minute with a strong run as first receiver, crashing over the line.
Lara Cosgrove made the conversion to make it 28-6 with 20 minutes remaining.
The Steelers scored another three tries, with Mia-rose Walsh completing her hattrick to defeat the Raiders 44-6.
The Raiders are fighting to make finals and currently sit in seventh position after Saturday’s result.
The Raiders are currently on equal points with sixth position, and will look to get a big victory against the Rabbitohs next week to have any chance of making finals.
