The Toyota Forklift Raiders are excited to announce the continued partnership with Black Dog Institute (BDI), with this round set to support the charity.
Black Dog Institute is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to understanding, preventing, and treating mental illness.
The Raiders will be proudly supporting Black Dog Institute by wearing limited-edition socks during the game this Friday night to represent our commitment to raising awareness for mental health and supporting those affected by mental illness.
The Black Dog Institute will also serve as this Friday’s Game Day 50-50 Charity Raffle Partner.
The Raiders partnership with BDI has grown over the past three years, undertaking various initiatives together including a Charity Jersey, Mullets for Mental Health and Game Day Charity fundraising.
Director of Funding and Partnerships at Black Dog Institute, Karen Elliff, says that they are proud of the partnership with the Raiders and that it’s helping to raise awareness of mental health support.
“We’re so pleased and thankful to the Canberra Raiders for collaborating with us to expand awareness around the importance of mental health,” Elliff said.
“Funds raised through this partnership will help ensure the continuation of our vital research and the delivery of evidence-based programs throughout the community.”
Canberra Raiders Community Manager Sarah Williams says the Black Dog Institute has also helped provide important resources for the club because of the partnership.
“Partnering with the Black Dog Institute has allowed us to access many resources which we can share with our players, staff and wider community to ensure we are doing our bit to bring awareness to mental health and give those who need it a helping hand,” Williams said.
“The Canberra Raiders know the importance of good mental health and making sure we look out for each other in our work life and our home life.”
The Black Dog Institute is the only medical research institute in Australia to investigate mental health across the lifespan. Their aim is to create a mentally healthier world for everyone using a unique translational approach to quickly turn world-class scientific findings into clinical services, educational programs and e-health products that improve the lives of people with mental illness.
Their partnerships with people with lived experience, federal, state and local governments, communities, schools, corporate Australia, philanthropists and others in the mental health sector enables them to drive evidence-informed change in mental health where it’s needed most.
To show your support of this great cause and to support Black Dog Institute, you can purchase the promotional socks and tonnes of other merchandise at blackdoginstituteshop.org.
50-50 Charity Raffle tickets can be purchased online or at the game on Friday night, with 50% of the prize pool going to one lucky winner and the remaining amount, minus fees, to the charity.
