NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg Round Five Preview

The Raiders NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg teams travel to Penrith this weekend to face the Panthers in round five action.

NSW Cup

The Raiders NSW Cup side will be seeking their third win on the trot when they face the Penrith Panthers at BlueBet Stadium on Saturday.

The Raiders are coming off the back of an impressive 20-18 win over the Knights last weekend. Prop Trey Mooney scored a try with just one minute remaining to level the scores at 18-18, before Jarrod Croker kicked the conversion to seal the victory.

Mooney was particularly impressive for the green machine, running for 169 metres and recording two line breaks, five tackle breaks, 33 tackles as well as scoring the match-winning try.

Raiders second rower Clay Webb also scored during the Knights game and has now scored three tries in the last four games.

Coach Justin Giteau has made a couple of changes to the team ahead of the Panthers clash.

James Schiller returns to the side on the wing after playing in the NRL team for the past two weeks. Valemei moves to the centres, with Brad Morkos dropping out.

Juwan Compain has been named in the second row, replacing Jordan Martin.

The Panthers have won two of their past three games to start the season and are currently equal on points with the Raiders on the ladder.

The home team are coming off a 22-16 loss to the Eels last round, so will be looking to bounce back this Saturday.

Kick off for the match is at 1pm Saturday April 1, with the match also live-streamed on NSWRL TV via the NSWRL Facebook page.
