NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg Round Six Wrap

A tough weekend for the Raiders NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg teams, with both sides recording losses in round six action.

NSW Cup

The Raiders NSW Cup team suffered their third loss of the season after going down to the Sydney Roosters 26-0 on Friday at Raiders Belconnen.

The Roosters were on the board first with prop Naufahu Whyte scoring in the fourth minute. Sandon Smith converted to give the visitors an early 6-0 lead.

There were no more points in the first half in what was a tight contest.

But the Roosters scored quickly after half-time, with second rower Siua Wong going over for a try after 42 minutes of play.

The Roosters continued their momentum, going on to score two more tries to win 26-0.

The Raiders side take on the St George Illawarra Dragons this Sunday at GIO Stadium Canberra.

Jersey Flegg

The Raiders Jersey Flegg team were defeated by the Melbourne Storm 26-8 at Raiders Belconnen on Friday.

The Raiders lead 8-6 at half-time, with Regan Carr and Kaden Williams both scoring tries in the opening half.

But a strong second half by the Storm proved too much for the Raiders, with the visitors running in four tries to win 26-8.

The Raiders take on the Sea Eagles on Saturday at Seiffert Oval in Queanbeyan.
