Queanbeyan Roos jump over the Rams to make it two from two to start the season

With the handy help of winger Jake Kiely crossing for three tries, the Queanbeyan Kangaroos have defeated the Woden Rams 40-10 in a high tension round two clash.

The Queanbeyan side came out looking to make an imprint on the game early, scoring the first try of the match just ten minutes in through winger Jake Kiely.

The team continued to raise havoc for the Rams with another try just 10 minutes later through Lachlan Ingram, who pushed over the line to extend the lead to 12-nil.

But the Rams were quick to make sure they stayed in the game with a try to five-eighth Sean Maloney just ten minutes before halftime.

The Roos answered back quickly with a try through Harry Quinian right on the halftime buzzer, leaving the halftime score 18-4 to the Roos.

The Roos started their second half much like the first with an early try up the middle to Aidan Woods.

But the quick tries did not stop there, just two minutes later centre Harry Quinian went in for his second try of the afternoon, extending the lead to 30-4 after Sam Williams had a sharp day with the boot.

The Rams placed themselves back in the game in the 55th minute with a try on the wing to Thomas Scrivener and a conversion making the scores 30-10.

But Roos winger Jake Kiely wasn’t going to let teammate Harry Quinian be the only one with a double for the afternoon, scoring not long after.

As tensions rose in the crowd and on the field, Roos' Kiely went over for his third try of the afternoon just nine minutes after his last one.

Sealing the full-time score 40-10.

The Roos will now role into a bye next weekend, and the Rams will play the Goulburn City Bulldogs in round three of the competition.
