The Raiders NSW Cup side extended their winning streak to four in a row defeating the Parramatta Eels 46-12 at GIO Stadium Canberra.
Leading 18-6 at half-time, the Raiders scored nine tries including a double from James Schiller and Michael Asomua securing victory over the depleted Eels.
The Green Machine was firing out of the gates to start the game, commanding their presence over the Eels early.
It didn’t take the Raiders long to take the lead, thanks to a line break from hooker Hohepa Puru feeding the ball to Xavier Savage who scored under the posts.
Bradley Schneider slotted the ball over the black dot to make the scores 6-0 in the opening five minutes.
The Eels gained their first attacking set on the Raiders line, with a threatening kick from the Eels forcing a line drop-out.
In the following set, Eels captain Jordan Rankin used his footwork and barraged his way over the line to tie the game up at 6-6.
A six-again call on the final tackle of the set allowed the Raiders to gain some valuable metres putting pressure on the Eels defence.
Some good cover defence from Savage held the Eels to one try momentarily, with the Eels eventually losing possession from a forward pass.
Both defences remained strong in the first half, with ill-discipline from both teams leading to neither side taking hold of the game.
A towering spiral bomb from Schneider proved troublesome for Isaac Lumelume spilling the ball leading to Luke Webley picking up a loose ball and scoring untouched.
Schneider converted the try taking the scores to 12-6 with 10 minutes remaining in the first half.
Winger Michael Asomua was a handful for the Eels, making valuable metres on kick returns putting the Raiders on the front foot starting their sets.
The Raiders found their mojo late in the first half, spreading the ball around and creating all sorts of problems for the defence.
An eyes-up grubber kick from Schneider followed through by Corey Harawira-Naera extended their lead once again.
Kicking the conversion once again, Schneider made it 18-6 at half-time.
With the game resuming for the second half, a dropped ball from the Eels gifted the Raiders a golden opportunity to stroke.
And that they did, as Puru made a darting run to the line scoring in the opening two minutes of the second half.
The Raiders kicked into gear as they started to compile the points on the Eels, with James Schiller’s speed and momentum taking him over the line on the right edge.
Some Schiller brilliance minutes later saw him pluck the ball out of thin air scoring his second for the afternoon.
A successful conversion from Schneider took the scores to 34-6 with 30 minutes remaining.
The Eels managed to clench a try back with hooker Meni Luke going over taking the scores to 34-12.
Some silky play from the Raiders had the Eels stripped for numbers leaving Asomua vacant on the edge scoring a double for the match.
To put the cherry on top, captain Trey Mooney forced his way through the opposition scoring under the post in the final minute of the game.
A successful conversion finished the game at 46-12 over the Eels in an 11-try scoring fest.
