Round three of the Blumers Lawyers Katrina Fanning Shield is locked in for this Saturday, after round two provided some dominant victories, and a hard-fought-draw.
Harden Worhawks vs Queanbeyan Kangaroos, NSWRL HQ Bruce, 10:30am, Saturday 20th May
The Harden Worhawks will be hosting the Queanbeyan Kangaroos in their first home game of the season after having their first hit out on Saturday.
After forfeiting in round one, Harden battled hard against a strong Goulburn outfit, with the game ending 28-all after both teams ran in six tries each.
The Queanbeyan Kangaroos have lost both of their opening matches this season against two experienced sides.
The Roos are a rookie side that have been improving each week, scoring their first try of the season last round against the Warriors which has seemed to boost their confidence heading into round three.
Both sides will be looking to secure their first win of the season this Saturday, where Harden will be looking to show their experience against the rookie Roos squad.
UC Stars vs Goulburn City Bulldogs, Raiders Belconnen, 11:50am, Saturday 20th May
It’s been two narrow games in a row for Goulburn after a two-point victory in round one, and a draw in round two, where they will be looking to establish their dominance against the UC Stars on Saturday.
The Goulburn side have started their 2023 campaign off strong and remain undefeated so far, although received a scare after drawing with Harden 28-all on Saturday afternoon.
The UC Stars have yet to win a game in 2023 after a heavy 48-0 loss in round one against the equal first placed Queanbeyan Blues side, and a forfeit in round two.
The Stars will be looking to bounce back this week as they return to the competition against the heavyweight Bulldogs side who will prove tough to beat.
Yass Magpies vs Tuggeranong Bushrangers, Walker Park, 11:50am, Saturday 20th May
The top of the table Yass Magpies will host the Bushies on the weekend as they continue to dominate the KFS competition.
The Magpies remain undefeated this season after a confident 86-nil win over the Roos in round one, with the Stars forfeiting against them in round two.
The Bushies were able to have their first run of the season against Gungahlin last round, with the Bulls proving too strong on the day, defeating the Bushies 38-12.
The Tuggeranong side will come out firing this weekend as they try to prove themselves against the first placed Yass outfit.
Gungahlin Bulls vs Queanbeyan Blues, Gungahlin Enclosed Oval, 1:20pm, Saturday 20th May
The Bulls will be hosting the Blues in what is set to be the KFS clash of the round after both sides remain undefeated so far this season.
These two sides are the only teams in the KFS competition that have won both of their opening rounds legitimately, and this weekend will set the two apart.
This is the Bulls first year in the KFS competition, and they have kicked it off with a bang after two successful rounds.
The Blues will be looking to continue their 2023 hot streak in round three in their battle against the Bulls in a clash that is anyone’s game.
West Belconnen Warriors vs Woden Valley Rams, 9:20am, Raiders Belconnen, Sunday 21st May
The Warriors will be full of confidence heading into this week’s game, coming off the back of their first win of the season in round two against the Roos.
The Warriors were unlucky to not get a win in round one, after their game was abandoned early due to a bad injury, where they lost 6-4.
The Rams have had a difficult start to their season, losing both of their opening rounds against the Bulls and Blues, who currently sit in equal first position.
The Rams will battle it out as they try to revive their season against a confident Warriors side in a game that is sure to entertain.
