NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg Round 12 Preview

In Round 12 of the NSW Cup the Raiders are set to host the Sea Eagles on the main stage at GIO Stadium Canberra, while the Jersey Flegg side hits the road to take on the Bulldogs at Accor Stadium in Sydney.

NSW Cup

The Raiders NSW Cup side will be looking to continue their recent form, after remaining undefeated over their last four games.

The Raiders are coming off the back of a confident 44-12 victory over the Eels with centre James Schiller scoring a double.

The Raiders will return to GIO Stadium Canberra this Sunday to take on the Sea Eagles before the NRL match. It is worth noting that the Raiders NSW Cup side are yet to lose at GIO Stadium Canberra this season, and the side will be looking to continue their luck on their home turf in this weekend’s clash.

The Raiders currently sit in fifth spot on the ladder, but are on equal points with the third place Warriors side, meaning a dominant win this round could see the side jump into third position.

There has been a number of changes made to the line-up this week, with Matt Frawley stepping back into the halves as he returns from a broken hand.

Nick Cotric has been named on the wing and will play his first NSW Cup game in his career, with Mitchell Spencer named on the interchange.

The Sea Eagles currently sit in eighth position on the ladder after having won only three games this season.

The Raiders have won their last three encounters against the Sea Eagles, and they will look to make it four from four this weekend.

Kick off for this round 12 clash is at 1:50pm on Sunday 21st May at GIO Stadium Canberra, with the Raiders v Manly NRL match to follow at 4:05pm.

Jersey Flegg

The Raiders Jersey Flegg side will take on the Bulldogs away from home this weekend as they look to bounce back from last week’s defeat to the Eels.

The Raiders suffered a tough 32-14 loss against the Eels last weekend, with the side finding momentum too late in the game with winger Livai Kaloutolu scoring a second half double.

The Raiders are sitting in 11th place on the ladder, where a win could boost the side up to ninth spot.

Plenty of changes have been made to the Raiders outfit, with Chevy Stewart stepping into the fullback role, and Ethan Strange set to start in the halves.

Jayden Clarkson will start at lock, with Ryan Woolley on the wing, and Toby Thorburn will step into the starting hooker role, with Tahrell Feaveai being named on the interchange.

The Bulldogs are also coming off the back of a defeat after going down to the Storm 34-20 last round at home, and the Raiders will look to capitalise on this.

Kick off is at 11:45am on Sunday 21st May at Accor Stadium, Sydney.
