Raiders and CRRL celebrate National Volunteer Week

This week, from the 15th-21st May, is National Volunteer Week. This annual event recognises and celebrates the work of volunteers right across the country.

For our sport, rugby league, we acknowledge the hundreds of volunteers that help deliver our code from the grassroots to the elite level across the Capital Region.

Volunteers are the backbone of our sport and deserve all the recognition for their countless efforts each and every week.

"The commitment of Canberra Region Rugby League volunteers cannot be overstated”, said Mark Vergano General Manager, Canberra Region and Community Rugby League.

“This year we are celebrating 100 years of rugby league in the ACT, and since day one volunteers have been at the forefront of our product offerings and delivery, I express extreme gratitude for this contribution."

Jason Mathie, Chief Operating Officer of the Canberra Raiders added, “The Raiders rely on many volunteers on an annual basis across both Football and Commercial areas of our business, led superbly by our Volunteer Leadership Group."

"We highly value their contribution and thank them sincerely for the significant role they play in our Raiders Family."

Acknowledgement of Country
