Katrina Fanning Shield: Round 4 Wrap

The Gungahlin Bulls have leapt the Magpies on the Blumers Lawyers Katrina Fanning Shield ladder after their 26-all draw with the Warriors in round four.

Yass Magpies 26 drew West Belconnen Warriors 26

The Magpies win streak was tested on Saturday afternoon as the new kids on the block, West Belconnen, drew 26-all with Yass at Walker Park.

In a see-sawing affair, both sides traded four-pointers in the opening 35 minutes with the Warriors holding a tight 16-14 lead at the half.

Warriors' lock Zali Waihape was a clear stand out for the visitors, being an enforcer in the middle and crossing for a try-double.

But the class of Yass five-eighth Jenna Cooke proved the difference as they attacked that left-edge all afternoon to score points.

West Belconnen looked to have hung on just to concede a late try to Ruby Morrisey in the dying stages to make it a two-point game.

Yass' Monique Bullock converted to level the scores 26-all on the siren, resulting in a draw.

Harden Worhawks 32 d Woden Valley Rams 20

The Worhawks continue to prove they mean business in the 2023 Katrina Fanning Shield, cruising away to a 12-point victory over Woden on Saturday.

The Worhawks opened the scoring with two tries in the opening eight minutes, alarming the Woden defence on their home deck to lead 8-nil.

Although the Rams hit back immediately with three tries of their own to re-gain the lead.

After a back and forth start, it was the Rams who held on to a tight 16-14 lead at the halftime break.

But it was all one-way traffic in the second half as Harden ran in four tries to one, running away with the 32-20 victory.

Worhawks fullback Visharn Edwards and winger Jamila Piercy were two of their best on ground, both crossing for doubles each as they wracked up their second straight win.

Tuggeranong Bushrangers 16 d UC Stars 0*

The Bushrangers have returned to the winners circle, defeating the UC Stars 16-nil at Seiffert Oval on Saturday.

Bushies' five-eighth Nicky Davies crossed for an early double as they tallied up four quick tries over the Stars.

*The game was abandoned early due to injury.
