Queanbeyan demolition as the Roos extend win streak to seven

The Queanbeyan Kangaroos continue their impressive form this season, remaining undefeated as they knocked off the Tuggeranong Bushrangers 44-10 at Seears Workwear Oval on Saturday afternoon.

A hat-trick from Harry Quinlan helped the Kangaroos secure their eighth win this season in what was a dominant showing.

The Kangaroos were able to crack the scoreboard first after Harry Quinlan was chased through a Sam Williams kick to score 16 minutes into the contest.

It did not take long for the Kangaroos to strike again with Jake Kiely crossing over in the corner six minutes later. Williams was able to convert from the sideline, making it 12-0.

On the back of a Kaine Pagura line break, Quinlan was able to bag his second try of the day. Williams was unsuccessful with the conversion leaving the score at 16-0.

The Kangaroos were quick to strike again just minutes later thanks to a strong kick chase by Bayley Hitchcock with Williams converting.

The Queanbeyan onslaught continued in the next set as Thomas Williams was able to break the line and score it himself. Williams was unable to convert from the sideline, keeping the score at 26-0.

The Bushrangers looked to strike back with Jayden McLaughlan recovering a short kick-off. However, the Kangaroos proved to be too strong, forcing a knock-on.

Tuggeranong were able to score their first points of the day on the last play of the half with Jack Davison crashing over in the corner.

McLaughlan was unable to make the sideline conversion, as Queanbeyan led 26 – 4 at halftime.

The Bushrangers looked to keep their momentum going after the half, forcing mistakes to earn prime field position.

The Bushies turned their momentum into points through Jack Heyman, who broke a tackle to crash over for Tuggeranong’s second try. McLaughlan converted to close the gap to 16 points.

On the back of a strong run by Quinlan, the Kangaroos were next to score with Steven Numambo showing off his footwork to break the line and score underneath the posts. Williams was able to extend the lead to 32-10.

A Tuggeranong error on the kick return set-up Quinlan's hat-trick, only four minutes later as he was able to score on the right edge. Williams was once again successful with the boot to make it 38-10.

Tuggeranong looked to get back into the game as they controlled field position for the next 10 minutes of the game. However, Queanbeyan were able to thwart the Bushranger’s attack at every turn.

In the final moments of the game, Williams was able to break the line and set up forward James Dent for the final nail in the coffin.

Steven Dunn was able to convert the try in his 100th game to make the final score 44 – 10.
