NSW Cup Round 15 Wrap

The Raiders NSW Cup team suffered a 34-16 loss on Saturday against the New Zealand Warriors at Raiders Belconnen.

The Raiders started the game strongly, with Chevy Stewart breaking through the Warriors defence to score in the 12th minute.

The Warriors hit back five minutes later when Sanele Aukusitino scored, with Ronald Volkman converting to level the game up at 6-all.

The away side then hit the lead in the 31st minute when Nicholas Halalilo burst through the Raiders defence to score, taking a 12-6 lead into the half-time break.

The Raiders were able to hit back early in the second half, when Matt Frawley took on the line to score, to reduce their deficit to two points.

The Warriors were next on the scoreboard, when Selumiela Halasima crossed in the 52nd minute, before a double to Viliami Vailea saw them further extend their lead to 18 points.

In his first game since round two, Elijah Anderson impressed to score in the 68th minute, with Brad Schneider converting to bring the deficit back to 12 points, 28-16.

Freddy Lussick scored in the final minutes for the Warriors, to give them an 18-point win.
