The Katrina Fanning Shield has had a very entertaining weekend with some massive scorelines across both tiers.
Tier 1 will join the rest of the competition with a bye round this weekend, while Tier 2 will have a double header at Raiders Belconnen on Saturday.
Tier 1
Yass Magpies 22 d West Belconnen Warriors 10
The Magpies have conquered yet another team on their run home to the finals in a thrilling 12-point win over Belconnen.
A full team effort was on display on Saturday for Yass with four players scoring, and a standout performance from Kaitlyn Andrews scoring a try and kicking three conversions.
The Yass side now sits in second position on the ladder just one point behind the undefeated Gungahlin Bulls.
West Belconnen looked to be still involved in the game and should not be overlooked despite sitting at the bottom of the ladder.
These sides will re-face each other again following the competition bye round this weekend.
Gungahlin Bulls 38 d Goulburn City Bulldogs 4
Gungahlin has continued to wreak havoc for teams with another blowout on the weekend against Goulburn in what was a 34-point defeat.
Bulls Fullback Caitlyn Turnbull was yet again unstoppable, scoring three tries and making several line breaks to help her side get the win.
The Bulls currently sit top of the ladder with no team being able to handle their attack yet.
Goulburn is still in the mix sitting in third place with hopes to turn the loss into a win when the teams meet again.
Tier 2
Harden Worhawks 64 d Queanbeyan Kangaroos 10
Harden has triumphed in yet another unstoppable performance defeating the Roos in a 54-point win.
Three of the Harden players in Bethany Loco, Mollie Hogan, and Emma Bayley all scored hattricks in the team’s win.
The Worhawks have continued to impress other teams with their improvement this season after narrowly missing out on being placed in Tier 1 after finishing in fifth place before the competition split.
Harden is in outright first place with the Blues trailing not too far behind them.
The Queanbeyan Roos did well to keep up with Harden coming back to score their two tries late in the game.
The Roos currently sit in last place on the ladder with hopes to gain their first win of the season in games to come.
The Roos will now play in the Queanbeyan derby coming up against the Blues this Saturday at Raiders Belconnen.
Meanwhile, the Worhawks will have the weekend off with a bye.
Queanbeyan Blues 54 d Woden Valley Rams 4
The Queanbeyan Blues have done it again putting in a all or nothing performance to defeat the Rams in a 50-point win.
Blues halfback Briony Frater was key in the win, scoring three tries and kicking seven conversions, racking up 26 points in the one game.
The Blues are now closely behind the Worhawks in second place just trailing by two points.
The Woden team fell short on the day but will be looking to change their fate in the coming weeks.
The Blues will now face the Roos in the Queanbeyan derby this weekend at Raiders Belconnen, while Rams will face the rested Tuggeranong Bushrangers directly after for a 12pm kick-off.
