Katrina Fanning Shield: Round 12 Preview

The Katrina Fanning Shield returns this Saturday after last weekend's wet weather round, as all clubs knuckle down and prepare for finals football.

Tier 1

Goulburn City Bulldogs v Gungahlin Bulls, 10:40am Saturday 5 August at Workers Arena

These two teams will meet again for the second time in a row after facing each other in the last round before the wet weather bye last weekend.

The Bulls defeated the Bulldogs 38-4 last time out and will be looking to make to same impression this weekend.

The Bulls remain on top of the ladder, but the Magpies are biting at their ankles with only one point between the two.

Yass Magpies v West Belconnen Warriors, 11:50am Saturday 5 August at Walker Park

The Yass Magpies will look to continue their winning ways after defeating the Warriors in the last game 22-10.

Yass are only one point behind the top of the table Bulls and will be looking to get another win under their belt with only three games left before finals.

Kaitlyn Andrews had a large hand in the team’s last win scoring a try and converting three, and she will be looking to replicate that form heading into Saturday.

The Belconnen side will be looking to change their fate and get over the top of Yass this weekend.

Tier 2

Tuggeranong Bushrangers v Queanbeyan Kangaroos, 11:50am Saturday 5 August at Greenway Oval

The Bushrangers will be looking to get a big win on Saturday after going down to the Rams last weekend in what was a 32-12 loss.

The Tuggeranong side has continued to show a lot of improvement this season and has looked to dominate in their attack.

They will be coming up against the Queanbeyan Roos who went down to the Blues 54-0.

Both of these sides are currently sitting at the bottom of the ladder with no wins since breaking off into tier 2.

Queanbeyan Blues v Harden Worhawks, 12pm Saturday 5 August at Seiffert Oval

The Queanbeyan Blues will be looking to wreak havoc on the Worhawks with an impressive 54-0 win over the Roos last weekend.

The Blues have won every game they have played in tier 2 and will be looking to continue the winning ways as they sit on top of the ladder with Harden just behind them.

The Harden Worhawks will be going into the game feeling well-rested after having the weekend off last weekend.

This will be a big game as it will be first place v second place and both teams will be looking to secure the top spot.
