Canberra Raiders Cup: Finals Round 1 Preview

We're finals bound in the Blumers Lawyers Canberra Raiders Cup, gearing up for another Belconnen derby in back-to-back weeks and a rematch of the game of the year between the Kangaroos and Bushrangers.

Minor Semi Final

West Belconnen Warriors v Belconnen United Sharks, 3:00pm, Saturday 2 September at Raiders Belconnen

West Belconnen v Belconnen United

The Belconnen rivals go head-to-head again in consecutive weeks, this time with everything on the line.

Fighting for a home eliminator last week, the Warriors proved too strong for the Sharks, defeating their opponents 26-18.

West Belconnen now host the first match of the Canberra Raiders Cup First-Grade finals series, hoping their home fans will provide them an edge.

While Belconnen United take the lessons learnt from their performance last week and gear up to redeem themselves on Saturday.

The winner will be one step closer to the Grand Final, while the loser will hang their boots up for the year.

Major Semi Final

Queanbeyan Kangaroos v Tuggeranong Bushrangers, 3:00pm Sunday 3 September at Seears Workwear Oval

Tuggeranong v Queanbeyan

The Queanbeyan Kangaroos have had a highly successful year, only losing one game in the regular season and earning the Minor Premiership.

Their one loss fell to the sword of Tuggeranong, who they face again in the major semi-final.

Back in round 15, the Bushrangers just edged the Kangaroos in a thrilling 18-17 match up.

Tuggeranong come into this Sunday's game with confidence, as the only team that has managed find a way to defeat the Kangaroos.

The winner will head straight to the Grand Final, while the loser uses up their lifeline next week.
