NSW Cup Finals Week One Preview

The Raiders NSW Cup team take on the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles this Saturday afternoon in their week one finals clash.

Needing a win last weekend to secure their spot in finals, the Raiders defeated the first-placed North Sydney Bears 36-14 in what was an impressive team performance.

A few changes have been made to the side ahead of this Saturday's clash.

Hohepa Puru will make his NRL debut this weekend, with Pasami Saulo, James Schiller and Trey Mooney named in the NRL extended bench.

This sees Michael Asomua named on the wing in the Cup side, with Peter Hola and Loghan Lewis the starting front rowers and Mitchell Spencer at lock.

Jayden Clarkson and Jed Stuart are the new faces on the bench.

The Sea Eagles finished the regular season in fifth place on the ladder after defeating the Bulldogs 32-22 last weekend.

They have a number of important inclusions to their side this week, with Cooper Johns, Latu Fainu and Kaeo Weekes all named in the starting 13.

The Raiders and Sea Eagles have met twice this year, with Blacktown winning 19-12 in round 12 and 24-18 in round 20.

But the Raiders have been in strong form at the back end of the season, winning their last five straight games, so will be a dangerous team to stop.

Kick off is 3pm Saturday September 2 at North Sydney Oval in Sydney.

The match will be live-streamed on the NSWRL Facebook page.
