Bushies comeback to knock off Roos and progress to Grand Final

The Tuggeranong Bushrangers have defeated the Queanbeyan Kangaroos 18-13 in the major semi-final to progress to the Blumers Lawyers Canberra Raiders Cup Grand Final.

The Queanbeyan Kangaroos will now take on the Belconnen United Sharks in next Sunday's Preliminary Final at Raiders Belconnen.

Tuggeranong’s back line shined when it mattered and powered through to help get the team over the line.

The Bushrangers were the first to get over the line with a sensational try from Jack Davison in the 16th minute putting the Bushrangers ahead early.

Along with a successful conversion from Liam Oakley, the score stood at 6-0.

Queanbeyan answered back with a try from Harry Quinlan in the 22nd minute after the ball was left untouched in goal.

A successful conversion from Sam Williams put him over 200 points for the season which had Queanbeyan at 6-6.

Sam Williams booted a beautiful kick in the 28th minute and Harry Quinlan collected it and went in for his second try of the day.

Along with the successful conversion from Williams, the scores stood at 12-6 in favour of Queanbeyan.

Just before the halftime break, Williams sliced a field goal to put the Roos ahead 13-6.

The Bushrangers made sure they were the first ones to put points on the board in the second half with a try from Titan Sega in the 44th minute.

The successful conversion from Oakley saw the score stand at 13-12 with the Roos holding the one-point lead.

The Bushrangers then took the lead in the 61st minute with a powering try from Bradley Buckley which put them three points ahead.

The successful conversion took the lead out to five points 18-13.

After a stressful back-and-forth final 15 minutes, Tuggeranong held the Roos out and will now go to the grand final in two weeks.

While the Roos will face the Belconnen United Sharks next weekend at Raiders Belconnen.
