Canberra Raiders half Matt Frawley #371 will depart the club at the end of the 2023 season to take up a two-year deal with an English Super League club.
Frawley has played 21 matches for the Raiders since returning to his hometown club in 2020. He played his junior representative football with the Raiders before making his NRL debut for the Bulldogs in 2017 where he made 31 appearances in two seasons.
He then played a season in 2019 for Huddersfield in the Super League before coming back to Canberra in 2020.
Frawley thanked the Raiders for the chance to return to the Raiders and said he’d enjoyed his time with the NRL squad.
“Canberra is my home and I’ve loved every minute of being back in Canberra and playing for the Raiders and I want to thank the club for giving me a chance to come back home and play here,” Frawley said.
“I’ve been given the opportunity to head back to the Super League on a two-year deal and I’ll be finishing up with the Raiders at the end of the season.”
Raiders CEO Don Furner thanked Frawley for his contribution to the club and wished him all the best for the future.
“Matt has been a wonderful contributor since returning to the club in 2023 and has always given 100 percent every time he’s taken the field at either NRL or NSW Cup level,” Furner said.
“We want to thank him for the work and commitment he’s shown over his four years back in Canberra and wish him all the best at his new club.”
