Raiders shine on the Gold Coast as they defeat Cowboys

The Raiders have kept their finals hopes alive with an impressive 34-12 win over the Cowboys at Cbus Super Stadium on the Gold Coast.

An absolute masterclass performance from Shakiah Tungai with three beautiful try-saving intercepts and a try to her name helped her side to a win.

The Raiders were first to crack over the line with a mighty pushover the line from Sophie Holyman who went in for her second try of the season in the 13th minute.

Excellent positioning in front of the goalposts for a successful conversion from Zahara Temara bringing the green machine 6-0 in front.

The Raiders were not done, scoring again just five minutes later from Zahara Temara off the back of a sensational line break from Apii Nicholls.

Converting her own try Temara set scores at 12-0 in favour of the Raiders.

Shakiah Tungai was in fine form scoring in the 23rd minute off the back of her own intercept just minutes before, the try brought the score out to 16-0 in favour of the Raiders with the unsuccessful conversion.

Emma Barnes was next to go over the line in her return game off the back of a beautiful chip and chase from Zahara bringing the Raiders out to 20-0 with just two minutes left of the first half.

Along with the successful conversion the score stood at 22-0 as they headed into the tunnels at half-time.

Madison Bartlett was first over the line in the second half with an excellent effort of putting down the ball before being pushed over the touchline in the 42nd minute which had the score at 26-0.

The Cowboys went over the line for the first time in the 47th minute with a try from Tiana Raftstrand-Smith and along with the successful conversion the score was 26-6

But the Raiders had an answer with a powerful try from Monalisa Soliola getting the job done which brought the score to 30-6 with 15 minutes to go.

The Cowboys were the next to over the line in the 64th minute with a try from Emma Manzelmann after breaking through the Raiders defensive line.

Along with the conversion from Kirra Dibb it brought scores out to 30-12 in favour of the Raiders.

But the Raiders were not done there with Kerehitina Matua going over the line for her first try in her NRLW career in the 68th minute.
