Raiders captain Elliott Whitehead is looking forward to this Sunday's Pre-Season Challenge match against the North Queensland Cowboys at the club's original home, Seiffert Oval.
After a long pre-season, Whitehead can't wait to return to the field on Sunday.
"I want to be out there, I want to get a few minutes under my legs… so I'm looking forward to getting out there,” Whitehead said.
Whitehead is excited to play at Seiffert Oval, saying that he always enjoys the atmosphere at the ground.
“We don't go out there often… hopefully we go out there and get a big crowd.”
With round one fast approaching, Whitehead said that the team has focused on attack during pre-season and hopes to put on some more points this weekend.
"We wanted to improve in that aspect from last year. I think we scored 38 points on the weekend (against the Eels), which were a rare find last year, so it definitely has improved and hopefully we can show that again this weekend.”

Whitehead looks forward to his first match of 2024 and is keen to get some game time before the NRL season kicks off in just under two weeks' time.
"You get excited to get back to playing after being in since November just running around the field, so it does get exciting when the games come along.
"We're concentrating on getting off to a good start and building a bit of confidence and a bit of cohesion between ourselves.”
With the 2024 season being Whitehead's final season, the Raiders captain has high expectations to lead the team to victory and finish on a high.
"We want to be top four. We want to win the Premiership."
