Junior Reps Preview: Round Six

A big day of footy at Raiders Belconnen this Saturday with the three Raiders' junior reps sides in action against the Penrith Panthers.

The Tarsha Gale match kicks things off at 12pm, followed by Harold Matts at 1:30pm and SG Ball at 3pm.

Westpac Tarsha Gale Cup

The Raiders Tarsha Gale side will be looking to bounce back after last week's tight loss when they take on the Panthers this weekend.

The Raiders went down to the Tigers 18-12 in round five, with Imojean Vea and Lola Fletcher both scoring tries in the match.

Currently in eighth position on the ladder after one win and a bye, the Raiders take on the seventh placed Panthers.

The Panthers have recorded two wins so far and are coming off a bye so will be refreshed and ready to go.

No changes to the Raiders team ahead of this weekend, with Imojean Vea named at five-eighth and Heidi Brownlie named in the second row.

UNE Harold Matthews Cup

The Raiders Harold Matts side will be seeking their first win of the season this Saturday when they take on the Panthers at 1:30pm.

It's been a tough start to the season for the Harold Matts side, who have been on the road since round two, so they will relish playing in front of their home fans this weekend.

There have been a couple of changes to the team ahead of the round six clash. Jack Leighton has been named at hooker, with Jack Milne moving to lock.

Billy Hollands has been given the nod at starting prop, pushing Thomas Handsaker to the bench.

The Raiders face a tough opponent in the Penrith Panthers, who are coming off a 30-12 win over the Illawarra Steelers last weekend.

UNE SG Ball Cup

The Raiders SG Ball team will look to get their season back on track against the Panthers at Raiders Belconnen.

It has been a see-sawing season so far for the Raiders, who lost their first two games then went on to win the next two before falling to the Magpies last weekend 20-18.

Raiders five-eighth Ethan Alaia has been dangerous in the halves and has scored four tries in five games, while hooker Xavier Cacciotti and Owen Hromow have also been impressive.

Plenty of inclusions in the team ahead of this weekend, with Lekani Mpaso, Keahn Skipps, Elvis Nauer-Wood, Samuel Hyne and Mahonri Tiotala all returning to the Raiders starting side.

The Raiders are currently in 12th spot on the ladder but are just one point behind the ninth placed Panthers so a win this weekend is important in rising up the ladder.

The Panthers are coming off the back of a 24-16 victory over the Illawarra Steelers last weekend.
