West Belconnen Warriors vs Gungahlin Bulls, 3:00pm Sunday at Raiders Belconnen
The West Belconnen Warriors will be hosting the Gungahlin Bulls this Sunday afternoon at Raiders Belconnen.
Last week, the Warriors secured a hard-fought win against the Tuggeranong Bushrangers in their first game of the season, displaying resilience and determination on the field. The Warriors will look to build on this victory when they face the Gungahlin Bulls.
"It was a tough game, Bushies stuck with us the whole 80, there were a few sore bodies at the end," said Westies halfback Charlie Henderson.
"That was my first game of senior footy, it was good to get that first one out of the way and we'll improve from there."
The Bulls bounced back from their previous loss with a convincing 36-22 win over the Yass Magpies.
"We made a conscious effort to tighten up our middle, I think we did that well on the weekend, and hopefully we can do it again this weekend," said Bulls prop Matt Richards.
With momentum on their side, the Bulls will aim to secure back-to-back wins against the Warriors.
"They're [Warriors] coming off a win as well, so they'll be fired up," Richards said.
"At home they're going to be tough, they love it there, so it's going to be a good one."
Meanwhile, the Warriors will look to back up a strong performance in their first home game of the season on Sunday.
Queanbeyan Kangaroos vs Woden Valley Rams, 3:00pm Saturday at Seears Workwear Oval
This Saturday afternoon, the Queanbeyan Kangaroos will be hosting the Woden Valley Rams at Seears Workwear Oval.
The Kangaroos are coming off a bye last week, preceded by a nail-biting 32-all draw with their cross-town rivals, the Queanbeyan Blues.
The Rams showcased their dominance with an impressive 58-18 victory over the Bulldogs last week. Their performance included a remarkable display from halfback Brendan Jimenez, who secured a hat-trick.
With two dominant wins under their belt, the Rams have put a target on their backs as the team to beat this year. There’s no doubt the Kangaroos will be keen to prove themselves with a win against the Rams.
Yass Magpies vs Queanbeyan Blues, 3:00pm Saturday at Walker Park
The Yass Magpies will be seeking redemption at home as they host the Queanbeyan Blues this Saturday afternoon at Walker Park.
Last week, the Magpies suffered a 36-22 defeat against the Gungahlin Bulls, despite a strong start led by standout halfback Charlie Woolford.
The Queanbeyan Blues clinched a hard-fought six-point victory against the Belconnen United Sharks. With a win and a draw against strong sides so far this season, the Blues have established themselves as firm title contenders.
With the Magpies wanting to rebound and impress their crowds at home, this game is sure to be an exciting watch.
Goulburn City Bulldogs vs Tuggeranong Bushrangers, 3:00pm Saturday at Workers Arena
An exciting clash is upcoming this Saturday afternoon, as the Tuggeranong Bushrangers travel to take on the Goulburn City Bulldogs at Workers Arena.
The Bulldogs will aim to bounce back from recent setbacks after facing a tough defeat against the Rams last week, conceding a significant margin of 58-18.
